For some of us leaving the security of hospital with our new bundle of joy can be extremely daunting. While in hospital
there is always someone on hand to guide and support us with our newborn and in our own personal recovery after giving birth. Now days with resources stretched to the limit an average hospital stay after a non complicated delivery is 3 days in a public hospital and 4-5 days in a private hospital.
Alarmingly more often than not a mum's milk has not even been established by the time of discharge on day 3-4 not to mention the dreaded “baby blues” that are experienced by at least 50% of new mothers that traditionally make a appearance around day 3.
When a new member of the family arrives the first six weeks are an exhausting time, particularly for mum. As a mother of three the founder of Fourth Trimester recognised that this was the crucial time where help was needed.
Fourth Trimester is now bringing some of that security of the hospital experience to you when you come home with Midwives, nurses, qualified childcare workers and highly experienced nannies available for short and long term assignments. You don’t need to be rich or famous to have a nanny and they don’t need to work full time, in fact many families only require a nanny 2 or 3 days a week.

Fourth Trimester provide a number of services available with a particular emphasis on providing specialist care and support to families for the first six weeks after birth. Our services are not limited to first time parents or just the first 6 weeks after birth, we have found that 2nd and 3rd time parents find the extra help invaluable whether it be helping with the newborn or the older children.
We only employ qualified and experienced staff in the areas of midwifery, nursing, childcare and experienced nannies to ensure you are receiving the highest standard of care possible through a nanny agency.
All of our nannies are fully insured, covered by workcover and come to you with a current police and or a working with children’s clearance and undergo extensive background and reference checks.
All carers have an up to date First Aid Certificate or Medical CPR qualifications.
Fourth Trimester night nannies can work from as little as one night to give you a break to 7 nights per week if required.
Fourth Trimester also provide “Nanny Vouchers” that can be purchased as practical gifts for family, friends and employees. Traditionally friends and family love to buy gifts for babies but are sometimes stuck for an alternative to teddy bears and clothing, well now there is. We offer a “Gift Registry” service allowing people to contribute to your nanny. Now when you really think about it, would you rather a selection of teddy bears to collect dust or a good nights sleep?
The nanny vouchers can be purchased by the dollar value, in hours, days or weeks. Payment plans are available for those who wish to pre-pay in advance in the months leading up to your child’s birth. Some parents find this a great option as they can put aside a few dollars a week while both parents are still working. Other payment plans are available by negotiation.
It is advisable to book your specialised nanny in advance whilst you are pregnant to avoid disappointment.
